Disabled individuals in Ontario have several discounts to take advantage of:
Toronto Zoo – Guests with a disability receive a 50% admission discount. If applicable, an accompanying support person also receives complimentary admission. Wheelchairs can also be reserved.
TTC and Wheel-Trans – The Fair Pass Transit Discount is a 36 per cent discount available to ODSP recipients whom reside in the city of Toronto and are between 20-64 years of age.
Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) – Monthly discounts available on electricity bills, provided the client qualifies financially based on household income.
Access to the Disability Travel Card which unlocks discounts to travel companies VIA Rail, Greyhound and Coach Canada. Apply here.
The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) grants free admission for caregivers providing supports to accompanying visitors with disabilities
An Access 2 Card allows a support person to accompany a person with a disability for free or at a reduced rate at participating venues, including movie theatres such as CIneplex, Art Gallery of Ontario, Ontario Parks, Parks Canada, and various other attractions. The requirements are that the individual must be permanently disabled and require the assistance of a support person.
City of Toronto Welcome Policy available to low income residents of Toronto who can receive a credit of $650 per year to spend on all FitnessTO memberships along with various recreation programs offered by the city. Eligibility here.
